A Gift From Far Far Away

I'm so damn happy today as I received a gift that was delivered from far far away. It was a box of imported chocolates, muahahahahah!

Furthermore, it has 14 variations of chocolates, including my favourite caramel and hazelnut, lovely!

Mc Donald Prosperity Burger

I went out to hunt for Mc Donald Prosperity Chicken Burger last night. It was a long queue and I waited long enough just for the Prosperity Chicken Burger -.-

Do you really get prosperous by eating Prosperity Burger? No, you get poorer at least RM10 for every meal ordered =\

That's not the end of the story. When I reached home and opened up the box, I found the burger was packed upside down. So, I turned it over, and this was how it looked like. Erggghhh ~~ the whole thing was wet and it doesn't look appealing to me at all, rather messy, where'r their quality control?! Luan luan lai one, ewwww ~

Another Shopping Membership Registration -.-

I still remember the very first time I went to Sibu, I was brought to Ta Kiong Emporium which selling a lots of imported goods. During that time, there are not many shops in Kuching selling imported goods, so everytime when we travelled to Sibu, we will never miss out any single chance to go Ta Kiong.

Queue up for registration

And soon, Ta Kiong will open its branch in Kuching soon. If you notice the tenant list at The Spring website, Ta Kiong Supermarket is one of them.

Application form of Lotus card

Today, Ta Kiong launched their Lotus card. (refer to my previous post, another one to suck your money before they open their supermarket -.-) Again, the registration fee is RM10 and you need to renew it yearly in order to enjoy the so called privileges and benefits. If you registration now, they are giving away 100 points and a glass. Besides, if you have refered to someone else, they will credit another 20 points to your account.

Free gift from Ta Kiong upon registration

So umm...you see the glass in the picture and you know what happened laa [shut up =X] ~~>..<~~

Mc Donald Curlies Is Back

I warn ya ~~~ The long waited Mc Donald curly fries is back!!!

Mc Donald Curly Fries, RM3.60++ (M), RM4.20++ (L)

After receiving the news, we rushed to Mc Donald and ordered the curlies.

Crispy, curly, yummy!

Apart from the curly fries, the Prosperity Burger is also available now. However, this year, they are serving green tea instead.

All of us missed the curly fries so much and couldn't help ourselves!!! At the end, we hantam 3 large and 2 medium curlies. Sinful ~ Sinful ~~ Sinful ~~~ >..<

Kenny Roger Is Back Again

After my baptism ceremony, Kenopi suggested to have lunch at Kenny Roger, Boulevard (the only eatery open at Boulevard at the moment, untung ya ~). I'm fine with it, so there we go for our lunch.

Jacket Potato Meal with macaroni & cheese topping

As expected, that area still very jam (we were stuck in the traffic about half an hour to get to the basement parking) and we even need to queue up at Kenny Roger to get seated. For the sake of Kenny Roger, we waited (in fact the stomach started to sing orchestra and vibrate already). =.=

Four Seasons Fizzy: Winter, RM5.50++

While waiting for our turn to be seated, I noticed there's a counter at the entrance of Kenny Roger selling muffin. So if you're too hungry to wait for your turn, you can get some muffin to munch first. Meaning, another channel to earn money (suck your money also, =X).

Mango Juice, RM5.90++

The place was quite packed when we got seated. However, we didn't wait very long to get our food served. I was pleased with their fast services and I must say it's very well organised.

Coffee

In addition to this, I found the waiter/waitress are very attentive to the customers. I'm not sure whether is it because I sit too near to where waitress/waiter stand by, as I stared at the stains on my table knife for just few seconds, the waiter already approached me (heck, I have not even raise my hand yet) O.O"' Luckily I didn't do anything funny there, wondering if they are observing me or not [sweat].

Kenny's Chicken Meal, RM15.90++

Generally, I found the food is just fine. I personally like the Macaroni & Cheese, especially the golden creamy cheddar cheese sauce, gulp ~

Chocolate Raisin Muffin

However, I don't like the chocolate raisin muffin served on that day. It wasn't that nice, but this is just my personal comment, others may love it, I don't know.

25.12.2007

Whisper: Big thanks to Kenopi for being my photographer of the day, muaks!!

25th December 2007, a special and important moment of my life, which symbolise my new life in Christ also.

Yep, is my baptism day!!!

Choir rehearsal

I wake up pretty early and get dressed on that day, amazing!

I reached my church quite early also as the first session of Christmas mass has just finished. For us who were getting to be baptised, were arranged to sit at the very first row.

Choir performance

With the blessing from God, the baptism was carried out smoothly. Later, each one of us was given a certificate of baptism and a souvenior (is a book for new believer, I haven't finished reading it yet).

My turn

Lastly, I am grateful that God never gave up on me but continue to lead me along.

Receiving certificate and souvenir

Boulevard Shopping Complex

I went for a stroll at Boulevard few days after its opening. I can still see a massive jam along Jalan Datuk Tawi Sili. I can even see cars parked at the residential area near Seng Goon Garden, oh my!

Jam, jam, jam!!!

However, I didn't see it very jam at the basement car park, wonder why is it so?

Lobby

I can see there are a lot of shops still under renovation, only a few retailers have started their business. And yet the place is so congested, wonder why is it so?

There's a rounded counter at the lobby which I guess is the information counter, but I didn't see any labelling nor sign board. Besides, I don't see any directory floor plan also, too small to have it [shutup =X]? Or, not ready yet? I have a feeling they are very eager to open the Boulevard and thus very rush, wonder why is it so?

Ice cream bar to be? Information Counter?

Anyway, I believe Kuching people deserves some new places to shop and hang out, not just limited to a few of shopping complexes we have now. Agree?

Bread house by Fujisan

And, I hope there're more shops open when I visit to Boulevard again. I have yet to use my membership card laa!!!

Construction still in progress

Merry Christmas 2007

Christmas Carolling Parade 2007

Whisper: Most of participants park their cars at the parking space near Jubilee Ground during the procession. Unfortunately, some cars tyres were get stolen, sigh! sigh! sigh!

I guess this is the first time I walk for so long distance in Kuching (excluding shopping). Kenopi and I had joined the 1st Christmas Carolling Parade organised by Methodist Church in Kuching last Saturday. We were told to assemble at Jubilee Ground by 5:30 PM.

People mountain people sea

By the time I reached there, it was quite crowded already. All the participants were grouped according to their churches.

The angels

We saw everyone was so busy to get ready for the procession. I didn't realise that we have to hold so many things in our hands, balloon, candle, lyrics ... and ... and ... I want to take photo gok ler ... eww ... imagine how busy I'm =P

We had prayer before the procession started. Then, we lit our candle and start moving. Before we walked too far, most of us started to adjust our candle liao. Due to the heat, our plastic containers started to melt. At the end of the procession, most of our containers were out of shape. Could be the candles given to us are too big?

God blessed that the weather was pretty good thorough the procession, except a drizzling rain when we were close to the end point. However, that doesn't stop us from moving on.

Afterthat, we have prize giving ceremony and thanksgiving prayer before we dismissed.

Sucksmyx Die Again

My broadband couldn't get connected last night, don't know why. The error message returned was "Please check your username and password".

I tried to call the hotline, but didn't get through "Your call is important to us, we will attend to you shortly".

Later, my friend SMS me, he told me that he can't connect to the internet.

This morning, my colleagues also told me that last night he couldn't connect to the internet as well.

Seems like last night a lot areas broadband got problem jor ~~~~

Sucksmyx aarr....sucksmyx, lu si sio ang chua???

Boulevard Fever =P

As what I mentioned before, the traffic at 4 1/2 th miles gets relatively jam when it's closer to the open date of Boulevard. I dare to say, most Kuchians are awaiting for Boulevard and the Spring to open, soon you'll see the Spring fever. =P

Front View of Boulevard

I passed by that area quitely often lately, so much just to see if the Boulevard is open, crazy...crazy!!!

Basement car park

I went there again this afternoon, heard they have soft opening the day before. It's quited crowded when I reach there, seeing people queueing up here and there.

Basement entrance

However, nothing much yet laa, they just open for public to register for the Boulevard family card and purchase selected items. The hypermarket will only open by tomorrow (22nd December 2008) and other retailers will open later.

See it??! Boulevard OPENS tomorrow, 22th December 2008

And, I would say they are so brilliant in a way they suck your money even before their hypermarket open. How? Why? The registration of Boulevard Family Card cost you RM10 per membership and RM5 for a supplimentary card. Got what I mean??

Boulevard Family Card application form

There goes my RM10..... ~~~>..<~~~ (they better have some good rewards, otherwise, herm! herm! herm!)

A Lunch Pack - Green Bento

I'm not sure whether you've received any circular email about Green Bento, an online lunch delivery company. We gave it a try yesterday, we ordered our lunch before 10:30am as stated. I requested the lady to deliver the lunch before 12:00 noon (can't help ourself, our body alarm will ring when the clock hits 12, hungry ~~~)

Our delivery

Our lunch delivery arrived by 11:30am (quite on time, hiak!). The delivery guy told us that their food doesn't have MSG added and they are using organic ingredient (so des ~~). Besides, he also told us that their main menu changed monthly, whereas, the side dishes will change everyday.

Chicken chop set with 2 side dishes, RM5.00

The food is packed in biodegradable food container, including the spoon. However, I still prefer to eat my food with metal or plastic spoon laa, the paper spoon, very weird laa...feel like eating paper ler.

Roast Chicken Sandwich, RM6.00

Overall, I found the food taste good, the portion is acceptable and the price is reasonable. In fact it's very convenient alternative, either, you don't feel like to go out lunch, the weather not so good, you are bogged down by your work, or, worst you don't know where to lunch. The food is delivered to your door step. However, it will be better if they could keep their food warm upon delivery.

This Year Christmas Is Gonna Be A Special One

Whisper: Various sources say that Boulevard is going to open tomorrow, as a typical Kuchian, my instinct tells me that area will be crowded, so, beware of the traffic there [whistle]

Christmas atmosphere in Kuching is always rather quite except some commercials effects from the Christmas sales. However, for me, this year is going to be a special one. Why?

Firstly, I'll be baptised on this coming Christmas. ^___^

******

Secondly, there'll be a Christmas Carolling Parade this coming Saturday (22nd December 2007) evening, organised by Methodist Church in Kuching. After living in Kuching for 20s year, this is the first Christmas parade in town, OMG! (I know every year there will be Christmas parade in Sibu and I seen it when I was in Sibu that time)

Route: Millennium Stadium ---> HSBC roundabout ---> Padungan ---> Jalan Tun Abdul Rahim (Waterfront) ---> Harbour View Hotel ---> Lebuh Wayang ---> Jalan Tun Abdul Rahim (Waterfront) ---> Sarawak Plaza ---> Song Thian Chok Road ---> Ban Hock Road ---> HSBC roundabout ---> Millennium Stadium

*****

Thirdly, there'll be a Christmas Celebrations near the Friendship Garden at Jalan Song.

Date: Monday, 24th December 2007
Time: 7:15 PM
Venue: Friendship Garden, Jalan Song

Oh, I love Christmas!!! ~~~~~

Something Better Can Be Done

Don't know how's the flood in Sibu now, but the news say the situation get worsen and certain areas residents are evacuated. I come across a corner that illustrates some "people" pay a visit to the victims at rescue centre and show their cooking skill. Oh my god, don't you think something better than cooking can be done?!!! =\

Fireworks At Vivocity

I love to see fireworks and I believe every girls out there do like so. It was Vivocity first anniversary during our visit to Singapore. There's an fireworks show at Vivocity Sky Park, in conjuction with the anniversary. Of course, we won't miss the opportunity to see the show.

I managed to shot some video clips of the show and I found the fireworks show was rather fascinating.

The fireworks were played in such a way, the flames and sparks follow the rythm of the background musics.

Me . Flood

Today, I believe one of the hottest news in town would be the flood happens in Sibu town areas, Song, Kanowit, Julau and other surrounding areas. This has brought me back to year 2004 when there's also a severe flood in Sibu. I'll never forget this in my life time!

I'm a typical Kuching girl, I originate from Kuching and I grew up in Kuching. I hardly remember any flood in my life until I joined my current company, in which, I was stationed in Sibu for few months. The flood hit the town during Chinese New Year 2004 and I WAS THERE!!!!!

When I read the news this morning, I know how terrible the situation as I experienced it before. It's really really really terrible, horrible, awful, inconvenient, .etc (name all you can >..<). I never feel so terrified and had sleepless night on my bed.

I still remember there's one night, my roomates and I, apart from keeping an eye on the water level, we packed all of our belongings in middle of the night and moved all the luggages onto our beds (as we stay at the ground floor of a hostel).

On the next day, the water level increased and our hostel appeared to be an isolated island surrounded by water. In order not to starve to death, by hook or by crook we had to walk out to get some food and drinks.

The water level was up to our knees, we don't have any sampan, nor any Phua Chu Kang boots at that point of time. So, how are we going to walk pass the water and get to the main road ler?

We wrapped our feet with plastic bags, like this lor!!!

Darn it, the most exotic shoes I ever wear!!!

That's not all about it, after the flood was over, the worms, rubbish and muds are everywhere! It's so awful, very dirty and smelly! There's even a big spider at our hostel, someone knows this better!!! [whistle]

Shanghai Renjia Cafe

Today lunch very qu liang, only me and SP chang toi kiok. We went to the newly opened Shanghai Renjia Cafe to have our lunch.

Shanghai Renjia Cafe (opposite shoplots of NIIT)

If you still remember, there's a food stall called Shanghai Renjia, selling soup filling bao at King's Centre few years back. They are now at Jalan Tun Ahmad Zaidi Adruce.

Location

The interior of the cafe looks very oriental. If you don't look outside, perhaps you will find yourself as in China.

Interior

I'm not sure whether is because they just opened, a few items we ordered are not available, namely the soup filling bao (a bit disappointed as it is the main reason we went there). We were told that those items need to pre-order, haizzzz~~~

Ba-Pao Chrysanthemum Tea, RM3.50 for 1 - 2 pax

Generally, we were quite satisfied with the food we ordered except it's a little bit oily. What I do, I laid a few layers of tissue on my plate to absorb the food oil. =P

Shanghai Stirred Fried Bun, RM4.00 (6 pcs)

When the food was served, I took the pictures of every dish we ordered which is very normal, right? Suddenly, heard the tau keh nio talked in her China accent:

TKN: Eii....you can't take the picture ler, it's our copyright ...
Me: I took then I upload to my blog, people know will come ler
TKN: ...

Cabbage Dumpling, RM3.50 (10 pcs)

Ok lor, respect her lor, don't want to take lor ~ and that's all I can show liao lor
